After 6 months of anticipation, we are happy to announce our project in collaboration with PUMA! This has been an extremely intensive project with elaborate logo design, text design, illustration and good old street work on site in Kingston Jamaica - all commissioned and executed over the course of 2 weeks. This campaign is promoting the PUMA line of foot wear endorsed by Olympic running legend and Jamaican hero Usain Bolt. Similar to Micheal Jordan for Nike Basketball, this is PUMA's equivalent for running, but with a hardcore Kingston vibe. Having been a huge fan of Dancehall reggae since his teens, Tristan was honored to take on the task and emulate the look and feel of hand done Jamaican graphics seen bodega and shops in Kingston.
Rumored to be the highest paid athletic endorsement in history, this campaign will be featured in print, TV, billboards, extensively on line and (most exciting) in every PUMA store in the country. Check out the highlights below and be sure to check it out at your local PUMA store!
The campaign photos and custom FAAS LAB bodega (made from scratch) took place on Matthews Lane, in a very volatile garrison in Kingston, Jamaica run by the legendary warlord Lord Zeeks. You can read up on him and his rival Chris 'Dudus' Coke here.
The locals were extremely kind and protective of the whole crew. Even though local stores don't get regular deliveries (for fear or robbery), we had everything we needed within minutes of asking. They were so excited to be part of an Usain Bolt project that they treated the whole team like superstars! Every kid on the block had a giant smile and great sense of humor, every one else jumped in to help where ever they could.
